everybody should watch first and foremost because of the unbelievable performances. bill murray is spectacular as fdr. he's almost unrecognizable as a comedian we've loved for decades. there's one little thing about this movie though. he was in a relationship with his distant cousin and that's what the movie kind of touches on. so it gets pretty crazy, and i was not prepared to see the great fdr in certain compromising positions. that's really throwing some people off. >> is it bill murray playing fdr, or is it a real fdr-like role? >> i think he's amazing. i think that he re-creates fdr in a time when daniel day-lewis is getting so many accolades for "lincoln." we should be talking about bill murray, as well. he's extraordinary. >> high praise. so what's it getting on the tomato meeter? >> well, i personally loved this movie because it took larger than live figures and made them very normal and accessible. critics aren't agreeing with me. it's 40% rotten right now. >> oh, that's not very good. >> i know, too shock i guess. >> who do you predict will be the best actor and best a

forward to a true partnership with senate majority leader rodney tom and minority leader ed murray, and with house speaker frank chopp and minority leader richard debolt. i want us to collaborate early and often on a legislative agenda that benefits all of washington. i want to work with every member of the legislature personally. our economy draws its strength from a marketplace of ideas, and so should our state. i have called all of you in the legislature already, and i'm ready to begin this partnership. if you got a call from me in the last several, that wasn't a robocall. i need to talk about the future of our state. when the people of yakima sent me here to olympia more than two decades ago, washington had just completed its first century. i sat and listened as former governor booth gardner presented us with a challenge heading into washington's second century. he said either we respond to international competition, or we doom ourselves and our children to a dramatic slide to second-rate status in the world. we chose to answer this challenge, with a unique formula for internat

today just get through high school. the challenge that so many kids confront, and liz murray wrote, you know, a beautiful memoir, "breaking night," about her journey from homelessness to harvard, how are we going to create opportunities for kids whose families won't or can't take care of them who have been told over and over again you're broken because they're poor or their parents hate them or reject them because they're gay or lesbian. these kids feel so damaged that college feels like another planet to them. and we write in the book about the game changing things that cities and nonprofits are doing to create high schools that are connected to homeless youth centers. there's a great program here in the city that's part of or connected to the door which is a drop-in center for disconnected youth. it's in its 41st year, it's an amazing program. and it's called brim academy. and that school was started with this notion that there are young people who are feeling really marginalized and disenfranchised. can you get those kids to come into school if they're homeless or struggling? we at c

. i've talked to leader reid. budget claire murray. we're going to do a budget this year, and it's going to have revenues in it. and our republican colleagues better get used to that. >> so this is still a fight between how much spending cuts and how much taxes. the president got his -- >> well, simpson 3w0-bowles sai let's get rid of the high tax rates. the president doesn't want that. you had $1 trillion in tax increases with obama care. new tax increases at the beginning of this month. and now they are calling for even more tax increases, and they are not calling to cut spending. they are calling for spending increases. so basically what they're saying is, they want americans to pay more so washington can spend more. that's not going to help the economy, and that is not going to close the gap and balance the budget. the reason we want to balance the budget is not to make the numbers add up. we think that's necessary for growth and opportunity. we think it's necessary to make sure that our kids don't get this debt that they won't be able to handle if we keep going down the path
